Police handle several incidents

West Nipissing police are looking into a big theft in Sturgeon Falls.  Inspector Ray St. Pierre says a contractor in the Canal Road area is the victim and the culprits made off with a large amount of tools.   They include miter and table saws, cordless tools and boxes of other tools.  In a separate incident, police charged a 51-year-old man with impaired driving.  An officer on regular patrol saw a vehicle pass through a stop sign and stopped the driver.  In talking to the driver, the officer determined that he’d been drinking.   In a third matter, police had to deal with an unwanted person at a local bar.  St. Pierre say the man was taking drugs forcing a police response to the site.  St. Pierre says the man was uncooperative and refused to leave.  As a result he was charged with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
