New Democrat pursuing winter growing program

The MPP for Timmins-James Bay is trying to see if residents along the James Bay coastline can grow their own food during the winter.  Gilles Bisson says the cost to ship food to remote regions is through the roof and sometimes people make sacrifices because of those high costs.  He says people faced with food prices three and four times more than the average price don’t buy as much and they don’t get the quality.  Bisson has met with the Produce Marketing Association to see what it takes for remote regions to grow their own food.
