Manitoulin educator with Canadore ties wins Premier’s Award

It`s major recognition for an educator on Manitoulin.  Kelly Crawford, the principal at the Teg Educational Institute in M`Chigeeng, has won the Premier`s Award for Community Services.  Community Services is one of six categories the awards recognize.  The awards recognize college graduates in several areas and in Crawford`s case she beat out 19 other nominees.  One of Crawford`s goals since graduating has been to eliminate cultural barriers between First Nation and non-First Nation people.  Since graduating from Canadore College, Crawford has received many awards for her work including the Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief Award.
