Search for float plane and pilot continues

The marine units from the Sudbury police and OPP continue to scour Fairbank Lake west of the city looking for a downed float plane and its pilot.  The pilot has not been identified except to say he’s a 60-year-old man.  The plane hit the water in Worthington around 8:00pm Wednesday.  A passenger in the plane clung on to one of the floats that broke from the plane until nearby homeowners rescued him.

The 32-year-old man was treated for minor injuries.  As the search continues, police want to residents to keep any eye out of if a sheen appears on the water.  That appearance would likely be caused by oil or fuel seeping from the plane.   Fairbank Lake is 130 feet deep and officials believe the plane is on the lake floor.
