Local McDonald’s owner excited about new partnership

Thanks to a new agreement between Colleges Ontario and McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited, McDonald’s employees can now receive credits towards a college business diploma. Employees, who have completed specific training, will be eligible to be granted the equivalent of first-year credit for a business or business administration program at one of 24 public colleges in Ontario.

Local McDonald’s owner Brad Haines says he’s very excited about the future of this partnership, not just for North Bay and Sturgeon falls but for all of Ontario. Haines says in the age of technology, it’s important for young people to learn management skills and how to be a part of a team and that’s what McDonald’s provides.

Haines says a university in BC is already on board with the program, and believes this program is something that will be become recognized by more and more schools.
