Fire relief fund keeps growing

The relief fund to help fire victims from the July 14th blaze in Sturgeon Falls continues to grow.  It now stands at just more than $11,000 following $500 donations each from RBC and the National Bank.  In addition to the six businesses that the fire destroyed, it also displaced tenants from 10 apartments.

Nine of those families have found new homes and have either moved in or are relocating to their new quarters in the weeks ahead.  The one exception is a person who is with family but has their name on a housing waiting list.  The Caisse Populaire has collected money on behalf of the displaced families.
